Football season got underway today and teams across the State hit the practice fields, and weight rooms, to begin getting in "football" shape. Keegan Zimprich provided us with the great report on St. Thomas Academy. Here is his report:

The first day went great. All key retuners from last year's team looked sharp. Today we installed the offense/defense, did "perfect plays" , and did some 1 on 1 competition drills.

As we move closer to the end of the week we plan on doing more 7 on 7 and 11 on 11 drills. as far as feeling for the practice I thought it almost felt like we didn"t miss a beat from last year, we picked up where we left off which was a good feeling. We feel like we have unfinished business from last year and are very motivated to get back to the Dome and win a State Championship.

In addition the defense seems to be adjusting well to the new D-Coordinator who was previously our OLB coach. No major changes but we will be playing with 2 high safeties more this year. Everyone on the D is excited about it.

On the offensive side there is also no big changes, we feel very comfortable and confident with how we are going to attack our opponents.
