A Change of Plans

It wasn't that long ago that Jordan Smith, leader of the state champion Orono Spartans, announced that he would be walking-on at Wisconsin. Minnesota Preps has to go with the "not so fast my friends!" on that decision. The sharp shooting two guard is on his way to a division one school right now for an official visit.
"Jordan is on an official visit today at Saint Louis and it sounds like they are going to offer him a scholarship," said Orono Coach Barry Wohler.

Smith has been in the proving people wrong mode this year. When everyone was picking DeLaSalle, St. Paul Johnson, or Benilde-St. Margaret's to win class AAA this year it was Jordan Smith and the Spartans who brought home the gold.
Minnesota Preps had Jordan ranked as a division two prospect with the 2011 rankings and if he gets an offer from Saint Louis that will put that prediction out to pasture. And lets not forget that Jordan wasn't even selected as a top 20 finalist for Mr. Basketball this year.
Smith averaged 21.3 points per game this year with 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per night. He shot 47 percent from the floor, 53 percent from behind the arc on 182 three-point attempts, and 76 percent from the free throw line.
Smith's 2,528 points ranks him 12th all time in Minnesota boys high school basketball history.
