Morgan Park: Marcus Lovett with a spectacular game scoring 26pts in the first half outscoring De La Salle by himself and finishing with 31pts (16/33 FG) to lead all scores. Morgan Park played a solid game but need more team scoring, being outscored in the second half by 18pts. Sophomore Jamal Burton with a solid game scoring 11pts (4/7 FG) 5reb the only other player to reach double figures during this game for Morgan Park. Morgan Park did not give away this game by any means, but can't expect one player to beat a three time defending state champion.
Cretin Derham Hall (MN) vs North Scott (IA)
Cretin Derham Hall and North Scott programs very familiar with the Minnesota high school showcase events. A game with very competitive expectations gave us just that, a battle of a game as both sides came out swinging leaving it all on the floor. Cretin Derham Hall would pull out a big time senior led victory over a high caliber North Scott team 74-68.
Cretin Derham Hall: Cretin Derham Hall with a major team win making a major statement, what they can do with a healthy rotation. Joe Rosga with a great game scoring 20 points leading Cretin Derham Hall. Sam Neumann with a good game scoring 19pts (5/12 FG-3/7 3FG-6/7 FT). Cortez Seales great game finishing with 25pts (11/20 FG), 12reb, leading all scores keeping his team in the game. Marlon Stewart with a solid game scoring 15pts ( 6/19).
Champlin Park vs Rice Lake (WI)
Champlin Park and Rice are no stranger to the biggest stages of Minnesota high school basketball this season. A contest In what many considered a mismatch match at every position but inside, turned out to be a very competitive contest. Champlin Park gets the win 75-71 over Rice Lake in a battle to the end.
Champlin Park: The Rebels team always finding a way to win during this 2015 season and this game was no different, Champlin Park remaining undefeated now with a 14-0 record. Rice Lake: A great effort by Rice Lake falling short in a game where Henry gave the twin cities another reminder of what the Marquette commit is capable of as one of the top prospects in the nation scoring 39pts, grabbing 18reb (11/23 FG-5/7 3FG-12/14 FT). Andrew Shearrow with a good contribution scoring 10pts (4/7 FG-2/4 3FG) 5reb in the loss.
Apple Valley vs Omaha Central (NE)
The Apple Valley basketball once again lived up to the hype against a talented Omaha Central team as called the Eagles. Not the most competitive contest as the Eagle's had no issue with giving the Obama Central squad something to think about on way back to Nebraska running away from the tip off jumping out to a 11-0 run to begin the first half on the way to leading 40-16 at halftime. Omaha Central had no answer for the high scoring Apple Valley squad falling 79-49, all Apple Valley.
Apple Valley: The young talented team showed great intensity form the start of the game until the final buzzer.
Sophomore big man Isaiah Chandler looked good physically but had little impact on the game with foul trouble finishing with 2pts 3reb 1blk. Gary Trent Jr was clearly the best prospect on the court leading all scores with 26pts (9/17 FG) while being Central's defensive focus, demonstrating the ability to score on all in game, truly one of the MidWest's elite prospects in the class. Junior post Brock Bertram was major contributor to the win scoring 18pts, 11reb, 2blk and was a dominant force in the post throughout game. Cameron Kirksey great overall game finishing with 12pts, 7reb, 3blk, freshman stud Tre Jones with 6pts, 4reb, 4ast to help get the win.
Omaha Central: Central got off tona slow start witch left them to play catch up the entire game something that they where not able to complete. Senior wing Magay Agau gave a good effort finishing with 15pts (6/15 FG) leading Omaha Central in scoring and look to be the only player not to be intimidated my the moment. Sophomore big man Isaiah Chandler looked good physically but had little impact on the game with foul trouble finishing with 2pts 3reb 1blk.
