Anderson is still open

It was a year full of drama at Minnetonka this past season but when it was all said and done, Skipper guard Tor Anderson made the most of his situation. Tor handled the ball for his team, played sound defense, and averaged 12.7 points per game.
"Tor did everything we asked of him all year," said interim Skipper head coach Joseph Burger. "As a guard he was our best rebounder and shut down defender. He consistently guarded the other team's top scorer, which allowed our other guys to defend better knowing they only had to worry about their match-up. The other four guys knew Tor would handle whomever he was guarding, that was the key to our defensive improvement toward the end of the season.

"Offensively, he did a great job splitting time between the point and two guard. He was versatile and big enough for us to run some sets through him to exploit match-ups in the post and had great vision and patience to set up cutters. He had the ability to breakdown slower defenders when we ran him at the point and I know a lot of opposing coaches had to gameplan specifically to keep him out of the lane off of penetration since he did such a good job drawing off the ball defenders and kicking out to one of our shooters."
More than anything, Anderson provided coach Burger with consistency from day to day. Consistency in effort on both ends of the floor and he was good for the Skipper program in the form of team chemistry as well.
"Tor was great to coach and I knew what I would get from him daily," explained Burger. "He could have been a kid that averaged well over 20 points a game if he wanted to be. Instead he averaged 13 on a team that had five guys average double figures. He was never selfish to just go out and get his even though he has the ability to be that type of scorer. This year definitely turned out to be different for everyone and there was a period of adjustment in changing a ton of stuff throughout the middle of the season. He was a main reason we were finally able to adjust and play our best basketball as a team toward the end of the year when it mattered."
Minnetonka defeated a good Robbinsdale Armstrong team by 25 and they handled Minneapolis North by double figures as well moving to the section final. In that section final Tonka were defeated by the Hopkins buzz saw as the Royals finished the year winning 23 straight games en route to a state title.
Anderson is now focused on his college plans that for now are a little bit up in the air.
"As for recruiting, he's still wide open," Burger stated. "Tor's a very good student and is really just looking for a situation where basketball fits as well. There's division two interest from all over including teams out of Colorado and in-state. Tor's waiting on the right fit, some school is going to be real lucky to get him."
