Apple Valley over Eden Prairie for ticket to championship

Apple Valley will play in the Championship game for Class AAAA, after earning that right, in a 62-55 win over Eden Prairie at the Target Center in Minneapolis this evening.
AV finished strong as Tyus Jones sealed the deal with solid ball control and reliable free throw shooting. Apple Valley could have won this one with a much higher margin if they had not struggled making their lay-ups.

Steals, and runs when they were needed, make them of the top teams in the State and helped them win against Eden Prairie. Tyus Jones seems to be able to score at will, and his court vision and ability to make needle-threading passes to open team-mates is amazing.
Jones finished with 23, followed by Austin Dennis with 15 and Dunstin Fronk with 11. AV was effective in preventing Fronk from raining down threes with their excellent defense.
Jack Cottrell had a very nice game for Eden Prairie. He put up 15 points and had 8 rebounds. Grant Shaeffer, struggling with an ankle injury, gave his all despite the pain. Shaeffer and Cottrell are also excellent football players.
Big man Brock Betram pulled down 13 rebounds for Apple Valley. Austin Dennis also had a very good night under the basket with 8 rebounds.
Apple Valley will face the winner of the Edina - Park Center game this coming Saturday at the Target Center.
