Auggie gets Huisken

In the next week Augustana is likely to sign a frontcourt that has more potential than many division ones in the upper Midwest. First they grabbed Daniel Jansen out of Iowa and this weekend they received a commitment from Zach Huisken of Southwest Minnesota Christian. Huisken is the 7th ranked prospect in Minnesota's 2012 class.
"Zach has committed to Augustana," said Southwest Stars Coach Ross Reitsma.

Huisken had offers from Northern Iowa, Drake, South Dakota State, and South Dakota coming into the AAU season but realized in his recruitment that he wanted to stay closer to his Edgerton home and go to a school with his major.
The schools falling into that category where Dordt and Augustana and the preseason ranked number one in the NSIC (Augustana) is the team that will land Huisken's signature. Huisken will be the highest ranked Minnesota high school talent to go to the NSIC since current Auggie senior Cody Schilling committed to the school in 2008.
This gives the Vikings two posts that were recruited hard by multiple division one schools. Huisken was followed by those listed above and Jansen chose Auggie over Albany, Tulane, and Nebraska-Omaha. The class could possibly be rounded out by Cody's brother Casey Schilling who is looking at Auggie, Northwestern (IA), and Southwest Minnesota State.
