Brown remains undecided

It was a fantastic senior season for Alec Brown. He led the Winona Winhawks to the state semi-finals, set seven Winona all-time records, won all-state honors from various publications, and was named the Winona Daily Player of the year. The only think left to do is decide on a college and he's currently in the process of doing just that.
"Alec has had a lot of interest since the tournament, and just recently returned from a visit at Iowa State," said Winona coach Rocky Peterson this afternoon. "He is headed to Northwestern at the end of this week and is trying to find a time for Northern Iowa. Alec still has offers from Chicago-Loyola, Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Toledo. He hopes to have a decision made by the middle of May."

A couple weeks back when Alec did an interview with the Winona Daily News he seemed to have his recruitment narrowed down somewhat but there is some indecision there.
"I should be signing pretty soon, looking at Washington State, Northwestern, Loyola (Chicago) and there are others that I have been talking to," said Brown. "I've narrowed it down to those three and taken a visit to Loyola. I still have to take a few visits. It may be those three teams, it may be somewhere else. I really don't know. It's really hard to narrow teams down and turn other teams down."
Others that have called on Brown include Arkansas and Indiana and at 7-foot-0 tall and unsigned with his pedigree it's not a shock that high majors looking for bigs would at least show some interest. This year Brown averaged 20.3 points a game with 4.9 blocks a contest while Winona had an all-time best record of 29-2.
"Alec Brown is the type of player most coaches dream about having in their program," said coach Peterson. "Not only is he seven feet tall, he is extremely athletic. This year, Alec's presence was apparent on both ends of the floor. He allowed us to play a match-up zone defense which we were able to really extend our perimeter knowing if we made a mistake, chances were Alec would deter or block a shot attempt on the interior. His rebounding ability often times made our opponents offensive possessions a one shot and done attack.
"On the offensive end, Alec's inside presence allowed our team to be real patient working towards finding the high percentage shot, which was evident in our 53.4% team field goal percentage. Teams would focus on stopping Alec with multiple defenders which created some easy scoring opportunities for his teammates. When things became too congested on the inside, Alec could play on the perimeter and became a scoring threat from 20 feet and in."
