Class of 2014 Top Defensive Recruits and Players to Watch
Prior to shifting focus back to the Class of 2013 recruiting, our last review of the regular season players will be of the Class of 2014 top defensive players. It appears we have some pretty solid defensive lineman in this group with DE Andrew Stelter (6'4 245) from Owatonna and DT Preston Wood (6'3 280) from South St. Paul picking up quite a bit of interest already. Minnesota legacy DT Christian Triplett (6'5 270) and DE Drew Greely (6'3 220) from Wayzata would appear to have D1 potential as well.

Defensive Lineman
Andrew Stelter, 6'4 245, DE, Owatonna (5A) - 2011 All Conference. All-Area Team. Recorded 39 tackles (20 solo), 6 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 pass defection. In track, recorded a 52'8" shot and 145'5" discus throws. Shuttle time was 4.51, max vertical is 32.5", max bench is 290, and max squat is 525. GPA is 3.7.
Preston Woods, 6'3 280, OL/DL, South Saint Paul - Two way starter on 11-2 team as a sophomore, had 16 tackles (14 solo), 9 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 knockdowns, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 3 pass breakups, and 1 safety. 2011 State Qualifier in wresting and had 31-12 record. Max bench 379. Recorded 20 reps at 225. Max squat is 510.
Drew Greely, 6'3 220, DE, Wayzata (6A) - In 7 games, has 35 tackles (12 solo), 6 TFL, 2 sacks, 3 PBU, 3 pass deflections, 3 QB hurries, and 2 forced fumbles. In 11 games as a sophomore, has 37 tackles (24 solo), 2 sacks, 8 TFLs, 1 INT, 2 hurries, 3 PBUs and 4 PD. Recorded a 4.7 40, vertical is 29.5", max bench is 250, and max squat is 385. GPA is 3.5.
Christian Triplett, 6'5 270, DT, Delano (4A) - In 7 games, has 47 tackles (21 solo) and 3 sacks. On offense, has 5 receptions for 82 yards. In 10 games as sophomore, had 57 tackles (36 solo), 3 sacks, 1 TFL, 1 fumble recovered, and 1 punt blocked. GPA is 3.2.
Frank Ragnow, 6'6 275, OL/DT, Chanhassen - Received an offer from Minnesota. Two way starter for Chanhassen. In 6 games has 13 tackles (7 solo), 6 sacks, 5 passes blocked, and 3 field goals blocked.
Mason Diedrick, 6'5 200, DL, Mayer Lutheran - In 8 games, has recorded 28 tackles (20 solo) and 8 sacks.
Noah Voigt, 6'4 225, DL, St. Cloud Tech - In 8 games, has 26 tackles, 1 sack, 2 TFL, and 1 fumble recovery.
Joe Wa Njoyi, 6'2 285, NG, Prior Lake (6A) - Starting NG for Prior Lake.
Tyus Deboer, 6'4 245, DT, Marshall - In 10 games as a sophomore, had 36 tackles (22 solo) and 1 sack.
Matthew Juneau, 6'4 225, DE/TE, Champlin Park - In 9 games as a sophomore, had 32 tackles and .5 sacks.

Payton Jordahl, 6'3 200, LB, Perham - In 8 games, has 83 tackles (45 solo), 2 sack, 4 TFLs and 2 forced fumbles. 2011 All-Conference. In 12 games as a sophomore, recorded 96 tackles (53 solo), 4 TFLs, and 2 fumbles recovered.
Eji Ejiya, 6'3 185, LB, Spring Lake Park - In 8 games, has 138 carries for 1406 yards (10.2 ypc) and 17 TDs. On defense, has 84 tackles (60 solo). 2011 All-Conference. In 9 games as a sophomore, has 89 tackles (62 solo), 3.5 sack, and 3 INTs. Recorded a 43'2 triple jump in track and a 4.57 40.
Caleb Butler, 6'3 210, LB, Blaine (6A) - In 8 games, has 109 tackles (16 solo), .5 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, and 3 fumble recoveries.
Gregory Menard, 6'2 215, DE/LB, Lakeville North (6A) - In 8 games, has 53 tackles (13 solo), 7 sacks, 7 TFLs, and 1 fumble recovery.
