ESPN #1 Ranked player Chet Holmgren continues his tour across America playing against the top high school players in the country. This week Holmgren was in Pheonix Arizona participating in the Pangos All-American Festival against top-class 2021 prospects such as Duke recruit Paolo Banchero, Kentucky recruits Daimoin Collins and Nolan Hickman, and many more in the star-studded event.
The 7'1" Holmgren is a definite oddity. The future pro could be at home resting for November 12 ESPN matchup against the number one recruit in class 2022 Emoni Bates. Basketball pundits believe Bates might be the best basketball player in America no matter the age.
Holmgren comes from the old school and a Grassroots program where you must prove it! The number one recruit in class 2021 ducks no opponent unlike many others before him. Most players of his caliber are too nervous and fear losing the number one tag. Not this kid from Minneapolis Minnesota! Holmgren comes to play! It might have been the toughness and grit he picked up playing with Gonzaga superstar freshman Jalen Suggs since third grade.
This week at the Pangos All-American festival Holmgren didn't disappoint and served notice that he can play with the best of them. Holmgren averaged a triple-double throughout the weekend. His most notable game was 24 pts, 20 rebs, 12 blk, and 5 assist game! His performance earned him Pangos All American Festival MVP!
It was a Reap3r like performance. Reap3r meaning something you know that is coming, but it just can not be stopped! Holmgren is a force that cannot be stopped due to impossible mismatches.
The 7'1" Holmgren might be the future of basketball displaying skills not found in many players let alone one that is seven feet. Skills instilled in him by maybe one of the best basketball minds in America Larry Suggs. We won't go into Sugg's accomplishments but one should note he is responsible for kids entering the NBA draft this year and next!
