Flack commits to USD

Six-foot-6 Lakeville North small forward Tyler Flack recently committed to South Dakota and there are several in this state who feel that USD got themselves a steal. Why? Because the bouncy Flack is seeing his skill improve rapidly plus he's got more rim attack than anyone in state.
Flack's size, his frame, his hair color, his quick bounce, and his developing range is drawing a comparison that is hard for people to get out of their mouths. And this comparison (not of overall ability but more so in a couple characteristics) has been made by Flack's long time skill trainer Mitch Ohnstad, by his coaches, and by people who have watched.

Although Tyler is a far cry from former Mr. Basketball winner Sam Jacobson (also a former Gopher and three year NBA player) they draw comparisons because of their look and bounce.
Don't get things confused, Jacobson scored 2,461 points and grabbed 1,013 rebounds in four years at Park, he was a five star top 25 national recruit, Sam led Minnesota to the Final Four, and he was a first round NBA draft pick.
But also understand that Flack has great potential not just because of his frame and bounce, but also because of his improved skill work.
Tyler had offers from Wofford, Bowling Green, and South Dakota and he made his decision a few days ago.
"After visiting Bowling Green last weekend I weighed all my options and I have decided to commit to the University of South Dakota," said Flack,
Tyler is the state's 10th ranked prospect in the 2012 class. He averaged 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds a game as a junior. Flack also has the potential for a great senior season and a strong career at the University of South Dakota.
