Flack takes 2nd visit this week

The 2011-12 sports season is shaping up to be a big one at Lakeville North.
The football team is undefeated and already looking like a state championship contender; North's basketball team will return five experienced seniors ready to make a run. The headliner of the group is Tyler Flack.

The 6-foot-6 Flack is coming off a junior year where he averaged 11.4 points and 6.5 rebounds a game, plus he gained the experience of a standout spring/summer season with Minnesota Select.
This winter Flack will be joined in the Panther lineup by fellow senior forwards Brett Rasmussen, a 6-foot-4 forward who averaged 9.3 points and 5.6 rebounds a game as a junior, and Ryan Saarela, another 6-foot-4 forward who averaged 4.5 points and 4.8 rebounds last season.
In the backcourt, starting quarterback Trey Heid is also a ball-handler. As a junior, Heid scored 6.2 points a contest with three boards. Next to him will be Devin Shockley, another senior who put up 6.8 points a game last year.
"At Lakeville North, we have a deep and experienced group of seniors who saw a lot of minutes last season," said Flack. "We have very good talent and strong chemistry because we have played together for some time.
"We believe we will be a leading contender for the (South Suburban) Conference championship and expect to go a long way during tournament time. We have high expectations as a team and believe we can accomplish a great deal."
Not only does Flack have the winter on his mind, but he's been thinking about his college recruitment as well.
"I've been talking a lot with the University of South Dakota, Bowling Green, South Dakota State, Northeastern, Samford and a number of division two schools in Minnesota," said Flack.
"I made an official visit to South Dakota two weeks ago, and I am going on an official to Bowling Green this weekend. There may be an additional visit in the next couple of weeks."
With several options to consider, Flack is taking his time to find the best situation for him. At this point he's expecting to make a decision during the early signing period.
"I would like to be in the position to make my decision by the end of October," said Flack.
With a decision made, Flack would have his total focus on his senior year competing with his fellow returning seniors.
