Kelly adds Big 12 offer

Academy of Holy Angels (Richfield, MN.) junior defensive end prospect Brendan Kelly (6-foot-6, 222 pounds) has been the biggest surprise in the state of Minnesota for the Class of 2008. Kelly, who wasn't even an all-conference selection last season, now holds three DI scholarship offers. His latest offer comes from a B12 program.
"I received a scholarship offer from Kansas State University yesterday," explains Kelly. "I called Coach Tibesar and talked to him about why they wanted me."

Coach Tibesar is Tim Tibesar, he joined the Kansas State staff as the special teams coach last season. Prior to that he was the defensive coordinator at North Dakota State University. He has used his knowledge of Minnesota and the relationships he developed at NDSU to try and pull kids Manhattan. He is a native of St. Paul, MN.
Kelly continues, "Coach Tibesar is a really nice guy and he has been texting me for a while now making sure I was doing ok. The offer from Kansas State was very shocking because I didn't think that they were at the point of offering."
This is Kelly's third offer. His first offer came from the University of Wisconsin. The University of Minnesota followed and now Kansas State. Kelly's process seems to be far from over. He has been to Junior Day events at both Wisconsin and Minnesota. Another trip seems to be in the offing. "I also plan of going down to Iowa State on the 24th to see all the new coaches," explains Kelly.
Kelly is one of the fastest rising prospects in the state of Minnesota. He has come from a complete unknown to a hot prospect in short order. Look for more on Kelly in the near future.
