Krych signs with UNO

Who are Bill Freeman and Jacques Coleman? They are future teammates and fellow Nebraska-Omaha spring recruits of St. Cloud Apollo frontcourt standout Simon Krych. When Randall Herbst resigned from the University of Mary head coaching position and moved to Nebraska-Omaha as an assistant coach, Krych asked for a scholarship release.
Days later Krych received his release from scholarship and his recruitment opened up. Nebraska-Omaha (who will be a division one school this winter) quickly offered a scholarship. Holy Cross, Idaho State, Hartford, and Western Illinois called with strong interest.

Stetson, High Point, Wagner, and Denver also called with interest. Cal Poly, Liberty, Sacramento St, and Northern Arizona called but didn't have the numbers to take him on right away.
Krych looked at all of his interest and the step was taken to officially visit Nebraska-Omaha and unofficially visit Western Illinois this past weekend. After coming home and reviewing his options Krych accepted the Nebraska-Omaha offer yesterday joining Freeman and Coleman as Nebraska-Omaha spring recruits.
Krych averaged 14.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game shooting 61 percent from the floor this winter while leading Apollo to the state tournament.
Simon is the 16th prospect from Minnesota's 2011 class to sign with a division one school.
