LU'CYE PATTERSON: MOST SLEPT ON RECRUIT FROM MINNESOTA? YOU DECIDE

Lu"Cye Patterson Missouri State's freshman floor general.

Undoubtedly one of the most battle-tested High School players to come out of Minnesota...even though his Missouri St. numbers didn’t reflect how good he was this freshman year. Lu'Cye Patterson played behind two Missouri Valley scoring leaders, Prim and Mosley. There wasn’t much opportunity for the rest of the team to contribute offensively.

Also probably what’s not on the surface...coaches know that the freshman gets the year back and was reluctant to have the freshmen impact gravely this year. Rest assure Patterson is a high-level basketball player that will turn NBA scouts heads down the line.

The same conversation that probably hurt him during recruiting aspects is the same conversation that makes him a pro...his body. His unique strength and abilities with crazy leverage and angles he uses make it very difficult to guard him.

With a player with Patterson's unique build, you wouldn't expect him to be deceptively quick and fast. He Has a super high b-ball IQ with great composure which is exemplified through how he conducts and controls the tempo and paste.

The knock-on Patterson was he couldn't defend faster guards, and coach Dana Ford put that rumor to rest at a post-game press conference praising Patterson on “his defense assignment correctness all the time”. So where does he go from here?

Patterson has sculpted his body and improved his endurance from his senior year in high school where he was the offensive player of the year on the Grind Session which featured current top NBA lottery prospects Jalen Green, Daishen Nix, Isaiah Todd, and Namari Burnet. How does a kid win such an honor and not be considered as one of the top players in the country?

Now down twenty pounds and looking more of the part of a dominant collegiate point guard it will be easy for scouts to recognize him as a possible candidate for the NBA. After this season Patterson will not be slept on any longer.
