Making the right moves: Michael Flowers

Michael Flowers has the size and stats to play at the next level. Now he is working to build his academics to match his physical prowess.
This year Flowers moved to play ball and improve his academics at Hill-Murray High School in St. Paul Minnesota. He talks a bit about his early season stats:

"At Hill murray we are 2-1 and I am 6'4 and 275 lbs and we are doing good this season. We practice hard and fast. My stats for the first three games are: first game I had 9 tackles and .5 sack, the second game I had 14 tackles, and the last game I had 9 tackles and 1 sack."
Hill-Murray works hard to make sure their athletes do well in the classroom.
"my plan for college is too play at a midwest DI school, and basically the whole midwest is recruiting me... I came to Hill for the education."
Academic are demanding at HM.
"If I don't keep my grades up I won't play, so I think about that all the time and it keeps me focused on things.. It helps studying hard, and the classes are not that hard if you study and ask questions. One class that is hard for me is government - that's it, but I'm getting help for that class."
HM provides help for kids outside the classroom for help with classes that are difficult for students. Flowers is making the right moves to help meet his dreams to play college ball. It's great that he has found a school and community to help make that happen.
At 6'4" and 270lbs Flowers had the physical size to be a force on the football field and now he is working to make sure he has the academics that make for a successful student athlete.
