Horn has always had to prove himself on the hardwood. When people observed Horn they looked at his size and came up with preconceived notions about him as a basketball player. Many didn’t seriously consider Horn as a division one prospect, which was very hard to digest if you watched him play Then his freshmen season happened! Horn led his high school team to the State tournament. Horn served notice, he was a basketball player! And a darn good one! As his high school and AAU career progressed he got better. Horn was easily one of the top players in his class. College recruiters still were reluctant. Some thought his style of play would not translate at the next level. Others thought it was his size and conditioning, something Horn would later concentrate on.

Over his junior summer, Horn got serious and worked on his body and conditioning. He returned to his high school team down twenty pounds and ready to take Tartan to new heights. His final two years in high school, Horn was practically unstoppable on the basketball court.

Recruiting was still slow. A couple of mid-majors showed interest, then Siena happened. Horn felt it was the perfect situation for him and he committed. Horn’s time on the floor at Siena has been sporadic playing spot minutes in first five game. Against Memphis, he had a breakout performance and almost upset the Tigers with a 24 point game performance killing it from behind the arc! When you study Siena and Horn’s time on the floor, one could assess they are a better team with him on it! Looks like he made the right choice.

Over the course of the basketball season, we will spotlight more players from Minnesota! Our next cover will be with Colorado’s man on a mission McKinley Wright.
