More offers for Halvorsen

Henry Sibley's Chris Halvorsen is about to go through all his options and start planning visits. The 6-foot-8 forward from Sibley has almost 15 offers to sort through plus the IVY League is a possibility because of his grades. And one high major program is still quite serious about the lanky and agile Halvorsen.
Although things are going very well for Halvorsen he did just lose one of his options this evening. "Chris was going to Southern Illinois tomorrow with his father but that just got cancelled," said Sibley head coach Tom Dasovich. "They just gave his scholarship to somebody else." The Salukis apparently had a player commit to them this evening.

Halvorsen still has several other schools to choose from at this point. "I believe Chris is also thinking about looking at Lehigh, Valpo, Ball State and maybe some others on visits," said Dasovich. "I don't think Chris has anything firm set up but I'm sure he'll go take a visit the first week of school."
Halvorsen's list of offers has included Kent State, Pepperdine, Pacific, Valpo, SDSU, NDSU, South Dakota, Montana, and Southern Illinois plus several IVY League schools want him as well. But that list has grown since the end of July.
"Some of the newer offers were Ball State, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Lehigh, and it's tough to remember them all because he has like 15 offers," Dasovich stated. "Southern Illinois had an offer to Chris right after the 43 Hoops event when Chris Lowery was in the gym.
"Stanford is looking at him, and Iowa State and Iowa are looking at him some too. I would say that the interest from Stanford is serious. They have not offered him yet though but his academic standing has helped make their interest serious."
Expect another update on Halvorsen in the very near future as he reduces his list and plans visits.
