Preps hoops recruiting notes

Thus far 12 Minnesota athletes have committed to division one basketball programs and three or four more could make a division one decision by the end of the month. Henry Sibley small forward Chris Halvorsen is amongst the athletes still in the process of his final decision and he took another official visit this past weekend. Today we quickly run down where the undecided athletes are with their college choice.
Rodney Williams

By far the most publicized remaining undecided player is Cooper four star small forward Rodney Williams. Rodney really doesn't have that much new going on at this time. So far only two trips are planned and that is to Minnesota this weekend and Santa Clara the following weekend. Bets are that following these trips he will make his choice. Rodney joins California point guard Justin Cobbs at the U this weekend and then he joins Hopkins shooting guard Raymond Cowels on a flight out to see sunny California.
Chris Halvorsen
Before the month started the 6-foot-8 small forward traveled on an unofficial pair of visits to Ivy League schools Yale and Harvard. With a 30 on his ACT and a grade point average of 3.7 or 3.8 Halvorsen is the type of player those schools would love to bring in. Two weeks ago he then took his first official visit to Valpo on a Friday and Saturday and then he jumped on a plane and officially visited Lehigh that Sunday and Monday.
A week later Chris had representatives in his Sibley gym from the remaining two teams on his list who are North Dakota State and UW-Milwaukee. Last weekend Chris officially tripped to Yale. This week he will have visitors from UW-Milwaukee and North Dakota State as Chris thinks over what to do next. He has two official trips remaining.
Emmanuel Addo
Addo has now taken a pair of official visits and he has another coming up this weekend. Emmanuel went to UNC-Greensboro and Northern Colorado already this month and this weekend Addo will trip to Albany. He will have coaching visits this week from Wofford and Albany and then next Monday SMU coach Matt Doherty comes to his school. A decision after all those meetings could follow.
Nate Wolters
Nate took his official trip to South Dakota State the first weekend of the month and has trips lined up for Minnesota State-Mankato at the end of the month and Augustana the first week in October. Winona State and St. Cloud State are also teams involved in the process.
Mike Fitzgerald
Last week Drake was in to see Mike workout and Michigan has been in contact some as well. There is a South Dakota offer out there for Fitzgerald and DePaul has been mentioned as a possible four for five deal. Wofford had offered but they just gave a scholarship to Jamar Diggs who was finally released from Wayne State. Diggs has transferred to join former high school teammate Cameron Rundles at Wofford and his scholarship means there is no longer one open for Fitzgerald. Mike took up to seven visits over the summer including trips to Northwestern and Loyola-Chicago. At this time his next step is unclear.
Junior College/Prep School
Other players in this class will likely join the committed and the future committed Minnesota players at the division one level in the distant future. They are Jordair Jett of St. Bernards, Cedric Martin of Minneapolis Washburn, and Carlos Emmory now of Bloomington Kennedy. Jett is going to a prep school next year while Emmory and Martin will be two of the top juco recruits coming out of the state.
