Winona big receives offer

In terms of potential there could be one, maybe two others in Minnesota's 2010 class with as much upside as Winona near seven footer Alec Brown. Heading into his senior year Brown is a long and mobile center with a shooting touch and a knack for blocking shots. Alec has spent his spring and summer months playing with the Minnesota Pump N Run and he recently picked up his first college offer.
In the last 15 months Brown has grown several inches plus he's young for his age going into his senior season. Mix that with his agility, length, shooting touch, and ability to run and what you have is a player with much potential.

Several teams have shown interest in Alec and they include Washington State, Iowa State, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Northern Iowa, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Colorado State, Iowa, Southern Illinois, Santa Clara, and Bucknell. Don't be surprised if several of those look to offer soon like one division one school from Illinois already has.
"Just wanted to let you know that Alec was offered by Loyola-Chicago this afternoon," said Pump N Run Director Tom Krosschell. "There may be another offer coming soon as well but we'll have to wait and see. It could surprise."
Brown was recently at the Loyola-Chicago camp at the end of June where he impressed the coaches and then the Loyola coaches followed him this past week at the Chicago Summer Classic and liked what they saw.
Minnesota has been good to Loyola recently as they just graduated key contributor Ross Forman (played at Minneapolis Patrick Henry) and currently has Jordan Hicks (from Rochester Mayo) on their roster. Jordan averaged 13 points and five rebounds a game for Loyola in the last seven games of the season. Hicks played in all 31 contests last year.
